Dont Forget! HR All-Toyota Swap Meet THIS SUNDAY!
Dont forget guys and gals, this sunday we’re having our first ever HR Swap Meet. Doesn’t matter if it’s an AE86 or any other Toyota, bring your bits and trade up! The best parts sale your’ve ever seen! just like Yahoo Japan but in your own backyard!
THIS SUNDAY (22nd March) – 10:30am till late.

See you there!
1st HR All-Toyota Swap Meet – 22nd March!!
Recently, we here at HR were discussing the current financial climate and all the shiny bits we wanted from Yahoo. We noticed that we all had lot of spare parts left over we didn’t need any more and after a light bulb moment we hit on the idea of selling our stuff we don’t need so we can afford to buy more new shiny parts! Hooray!!
We all know selling through forums is not the most fun in the world and can be difficult selling something with out knowing what it looks like or getting low balled so bring your stuff along in your AE86 or any other Toyota and haggle, talk shit, sell, swap, give away and pretty much anything else! Now you can see all the bits you need and want and possibly trade your stuff for that! Everyone is after that little something so make sure your there to grab a bargain!!
22nd March – 10:30am till late.

Don’t worry all you non-Sydney people, there are plans in the works for other swap-meets all over Aus in the coming months so stay tuned!
86 Trackday @ Mondello Park, Ireland
The Ireland AE86 Owners Club organised a track day at their local circuit Mondello Park last weekend with an eclectic mix of makes and models showing up, not just the hachirokus! Several ProDrift drivers were in attendance as was Darren McNamara of MCNSPORT fame in his newly rebuilt Trueno hatch. Speaking to Darren last week, he mentioned the sheer brilliance of the N2 spec 4A-GE it is currently powered by, so expect a feature on it very soon!
Hit the jump for more info and lots of photos from Irish legend lenseman (say that three times fast…) Paddy McGrath.
Euro AE86 One Make Battle!
We started the Euro ’86 battle last year since we thought it would be cool to gather some AE86s on the track and have a fun and friendly competition. The main goal is to have a good time and do some fast laps on track, with the spoils being bragging rights and not much else. Last years turnout was not really as big as you might expect in Japan but it was still a lot of fun for everyone who came along.
Hawaii 8-6:
HR Forum member EVADE gives us the latest on what’s happening in the local Hawaiian AE86 scene.
The meet was just a bunch of friends meeting up at a park and getting out there doing some driving. ’86 meets hardly happen here in Hawaii so when it happens again I’ll be sure to let you guys know.
Until then, here are some photos of the latest meet.
A Swiss Visits Japan!
Hi everybody, Tobias here! I’m HR’s first international blogger and this will be my first blog entry here! As a first post I would like to share some impressions from my 2008 trip to Japan, of course focused on our beloved Hachiroku!
We arrived on a very humid Thursday in late August in Narita, Tokyo. We jumped on the limousine bus to the city and already had plans for the upcoming weekend!
HR Victoria Photoshoot Meet
Our first HR Victoria monthly meet of 2009! This month we just planed to have a low key meet which included some beers at one of my favourite cafes called Cafe Garage. Its the only place I know of where you can park your car inside the cafe! Beers flowed and everyone had a blast. Festivities were followed by a photo-shoot at the top of South Melbourne Market with us hoping to catch the skyline of Melbourne as the backdrop. Unfortunately we got there too late and it was to dark to take any good photos, but we did manage to get one decent photo! (Thanks Peter!)
Stay tuned for next months HR Victoria monthly meet which will involve some cruising on one of the twisty roads around Victoria….
Tsukuba AE86 Racin’
Of all the tracks in all the world, what other circuit name can get you as excited as Tsukuba? The Green Hell comes close but Tsukuba is where all the action goes down in our awesome world of hachiroku!
Alexi over at noriyaro has once again provided us disciples of the church of AE86 with a juicy sermon.
A while back when I took the Skyline to go drifting at Tsukuba Circuit, there was a series of AE86-only one-make races being held by Option2 magazine and Ken Sato’s Mercury workshop on the same day. The drifting sessions were filling the dead time between races, which was the main event of the morning.
Naturally, there were a whole bunch of very quick hachirokus there competing in the roughly ten-minute races, running the gamut from expertly tuned and prepared to completely boro and awesome.
The fastest car was Tsutomu Suzuki, driving his #18 Cashiew Trueno (pictured), with a best lap time of 1’02.885. Hibino competed in the race in his SR20 turbo D1 Levin, and came fifth overall.
Jump over there now and check out the sh*t-ton of pics… I just love the one without the rear windscreen… BORO!
AE86 & Motorkhana/Autocross
In the last couple of weeks I’ve been psyching my self to get back into motorkhana events in 2009. So what does one do when they want to find out what they need to do to their car in preparation for racing? Search the Internet of course!
HR GOR Cruise Report
Another month and another HR Victoria monthly meet, this time we headed down the Great Ocean Road to take in the beautiful scenery and pristine blacktop.
Check out the full event write-up and pics after the jump!
