AutoBody Miyazato Twin Dori!

Chris from Team Hinga over in sunny Okinawa is a mainstay of the drifting scene over there and has had more than his share of ‘girls’ as he likes to call his AE86’s. Along with his other servicemen mates, they are taking it to the natives and showing them how its done.

Last weekend Chris and the Team Hinga crew set off to whats affectionately known as ‘The Bullring’ track in Okinawa and had what looks to be a pretty damn good day of hard drifting. A massive bunch of pics from the event after the jump.

AE86’s at Oran Park

Initial Drift held a practice day last sunday at Oran Park, on the North Circuit. This saw three of our forum memebers, Brad (Steriodchicken), Andrew (DVS81N) and Indi (indi86) thrashing their treasured Hachi Rokus around the track.

Formula D Singapore: The AE86 Has Still Got It.

Last weekend was the first ever Formula Drift event held in Singapore. The AE86 was well represented with at least 3 cars in the field. Tengku Djan, piloting his Trueno Hatch was leading up to the final battle but ended up finishing 2nd, due to a spin just before the finish line. He also took the honour of fastest entry speed, clocking in @ 107Kph on the speed trap. It Just goes to show the AE86 still has the potential to go up against the big-boys at pro level drift competitions.

Katsuhiro Ueo is the undisputed god when it comes to drifting the AE86. This video was from the D1 Street Legal Sekia Hills round where he was piloting a Levin Coupe powered with only a 90hp blacktop 20V. Not many people can steer like that. Simply amazing!!!!!!

4A-G + Turbo + 10,000RPM = 400HP

Hasselgren Engineering is currently developing a Turbo Formula Alantic 16v for the Falken sponsored AE86 driven by Taka Anono, to compete in the 2008 Formula D Championship. The engine will be good for 10,000rpm and make around 400rwhp. This power will be passed through a OS Giken close ratio FC rx7 box, a mk1 supra rear end and smoking up wide Falken tyres. This is a powertrain that any AE86 owner would die for, it will be truly amazing to see and we cant wait for video footage.
