New Sh*t!: Rays TE37V

Mike and the boys over at 86ers have the drop on the new range of RAYS wheels that have just been announced before Tokyo Auto Salon next weekend.  The TE37V are to be sold with us old car lovers in mind. You see, the V stands for vintage and the wheels are of course 114.3 in 4 stud drill pattern and will be offered in 7.5 up to 10-inches wide in two colors only.  That’s not all, the total weight of the 10-inch variety are only a measly 5.3kg EACH!

Impulse garage has some tasty new carbon window visors for sale for a skimpy 23,100Yen.  Available in either Levin or Trueno stickered versions, Impuse quotes worldwide shortage and ridiculous pricing of the OEM version as their motivation to produce these exquisitely crafted duplicates. Be warned though, due to lack of space, ordering ahead of time is required to allow to let the Impulse guys to make freshly baked versions just for you!

If plain black carbon isn’t quite your cup-o-tea, they are also available in yellow, red, silver and teal carbon too!

Well known AE86 community contributor Assassin10000 already made great write ups in the past about the SR5 to GTS conversions, 4AGE distributor rebuild and even the Celica Supra MA45/46/47 axle swap. This time he came up with an ingenious idea: instead of seeking for a whole bellhousing, why not make an adaptor plate for the W58 gearbox and the T50 4AGE bellhousing!

Not Just JDM!?

You mean there are other parts out there? not just from Japan? And dare I say it just as high, if not higher, quality and… cheaper!?  Thats right boys and girls, the hachiroku motherland is not the only place to get top quality parts for your AE86!

This came about when I was searching for parts (specifically pistons) for my car and I didnt want to wait two months to have stuff shipped from Japan by boat or pay hundreds of dollars for EMS shipping. So I started looking at other parts of the world like the US, Europe and of course our home Australia. You’d be surprised what is available right in our own back yard and for a damn sight cheaper than having to import from Japan.
