Shop Review: Westside Exhausts

westside

Some of you may or may not know, but for the last 4 months I have been completely rebuilding my Trueno into a huge money pit…. I mean into a 4A-GTE equipped drift weapon. Since it is finally at the stage where the exhaust and intercooler piping needed to be made, I could have just done it myself like I have done in the past, but I thought this time if I was going to all the extra effort in other areas on the car, then this could not be half arsed!

So I went to see the boys down at Westside Exhausts here in Sydney’s south west. Shop owner Brad has been in the business for a long time and if you want some background on his skills you only need to check out his VW bug ‘JUNKA’ for purely outstanding crafts work.

Brad also has a great right hand man who is also a whiz on the tools and also a Sprinter fan. When he’s not working on projects at the shop, Beau (it’s a great name isn’t it) is building, racing and modifying an AE86 N2 TRD replica, which by the way is currently on the rebuild into something absolutely insane. Stay tuned for updates on this beast in a later blog!

Now they are not just a exhaust shop as the name suggests! They basically do anything in the way of fabrication, from building a transmission tunnel and floor pan to fit that new 1UZ you stuck in your Sprinter or even just making you some nice alloy bits such as a oil catch can tank or even an alloy purse holder if thats the way you swing it! Just walking into the carpark of Westside you will straight away be hit in the face will the quality of work on display.

If you’re in Sydney and want to get some top quality fabrication work by a great bunch of guys head down to Westside Exhaust @ 1/13 Watson Road Padstow. Check out some examples of their work below.
