Hey Guys,

It has been 8 years since i was last behind the wheel on an AE86 (i had a aus spec levin with jap goodies then got a zenki coupe), I've had a few different cars since then… i bought a 180sx (sil80), then a 09 Renault Clio 197 R27, a stint with a V8… a 2012 VE SSV Redline Ute big cam and other stuff resulting in 347kw at the wheels… then i got bored and bought another clio… a 2005 Clio 182 Cup.

All this time i have been watching carsales.com and forums waiting for the right 86 to come up for sale… then last saturday night it did… i got so excited, went to view it on sunday.. the drive it home on monday.

its a 85 AE86 Kouki GT Apex Levin Coupe. I is in absolutely amazing condition, must have been restored (or just looked after) at some point in Japan. It only came to Australia in December. Everything works..
- Cornering lights
- Electric window with auto up and down for driver
- power mirrors
- lumbar support
- side bolsters on drivers seat adjusters

I will ad some pictures soon.

Anyway.. I'm so happy to be back in an 86.

Thanks!! I haven't driven my clio since I picked up this 86!! So good. Will put it away in garage soon and take if out occasionally. Carbs need a tune soon... Seems to stutter a little bit sometimes.

Welcome back buddy, I still remember going through nasho with a bunch of 86 when you had your levin many moons ago.

Decided I'm going to remove the drivers seat for two reasons.. It's so mint I don't want to break it.. And I need something more supportive.

Was having a look your machine at Cars and Coffee. Absolutely superb mate! Exterior and interior are in awesome condition. Congrats on the purchase! :)

The carb setup is interesting. Not uncommon to see on serious drift/circuit-spec AE86's in Japan, but a little unusual to see in such an original car. Ill bet they sound wicked and give great throttle response though! Are you planning on sticking with them?

Thanks mate,
Yep sounds pretty rad and revs very quickly.
Yes I'll stick with them.. They need a bit of adjusting but will get around to that.
