Anyone know what the NSW guys are doing to get to the meet? I assume the Necastle guys will head down together (mabey with the Qlders?)

Will the rest of us just meet at Wakefeild? Perhaps we could have a meet point or two around sydney to get people together for the trip down, eg one for the North Sydney people (EG North Ryde before the M2/M7), another near the start of the M5 somewhere, and another furthur down the M5, or mabey just one meet point down the M5, what are peoples thoughts?

We probably also need someone from NSW to organise contacts for everyone, like mobile numbers ETC like the other states are doing, we cant have half our group going missing on our home event

^^^^^^^^^^^^ ur gay

yeah cannonball, where abts r u located? i live in auburn, so anywhere around here or down to bankstown closer to M5 is ok for me. there is a big BP about 5 mins away from the M5 on ur left, i think that would be a good meeting spot

Cannonball

I will be coming from Penrith area, Northern Road down to Narellan is quickest for me, so I can either meetup with others near the the Cambelltown/Narellan area, or I could make a detour if needed

Buddy, you are always keen to organise a run, how about you decide on the meetup point for those from the north, eg chatswood/ryde, hornsby, northern beaches and Newcastle.
Keep in mind some people will want to run down the M2/M7 if they can afford it, as it is very quick, but at 5am it probably wont make a difference.

Cannonball
01-11-2006, 11:13 AM
One thing to remember though, I will be hitting the track on the day, so I will be VERY early, mabey too early for those of you that are just going to spectate, mabey 5AM, mabey earlier, depends on how many people are meeting up, as the more people there are the longer these "meetups" take.

Garth
01-11-2006, 11:14 AM
yep guys ill be there on friday night also
makes for a much less stressed saturday for you AND your ae! :)

Cannonball
01-11-2006, 11:18 AM
So are most NSW guys (competeing) going on the friday?

Matt Mead
01-11-2006, 11:27 AM
no one is "Competing" craig we are "Driving" hahahah

i think most people are going on the friday...

Hopefully firday nights in goulbourn go off hahahha

also if u plan on staying at wakefield there are only about 20 - 30 beds so u better book soon....

Sprinterboy
01-11-2006, 12:00 PM
any of those interested can crash out at the F1 motel in canberra, trust me, canberra is REAL close to wakefield, takes me about 45min to get there from my door step. Or if the budget is tight (like mine) I do have a spare room...

just some ideas.

Matt Mead
01-11-2006, 12:20 PM
its 50$ a night at wakfield even chepaer in goulbourn

Cannonball

no one is "Competing" craig we are "Driving" hahahah

If there are "awards" or even just HR.com records for fastest time, best drift, best crash :? , then I would say we are competing. What I meant was to differentiate between people that are entered for competing and those that are just spectating

Im up for heading up on the friday night aswell... i was going to keep it all unofficial but i suppose we all might aswell convoy it up.. ay? NSW represent!...

btw. the first pots of annual has been updated with meet info in regards to the Sunday meet!

As for spot to meet at for heading to wakefield on friday night?

THE CROSSROADS baby!

it is literally the last stop before we jump on the freeway.. if your STH of the crossroads.. well up to you if you want to head up abit and meetup. But its the perfect spot in regards to everyone actually living in inner sydney

THE CROSSROADS baby!

Great minds think alike. I'm going to head down on the Friday aswell, as Garth said it makes it more organised already being down there, and geting up and leaving and being noisy with the car trailer and shit isn't fun at 4 in the monring lol.

So, does everyone heading down on the Friday want to meet at Uncle Leo's at the crossroads, it's the truck diner on (Old) Campbelltown Road on the left, literaly 100m from the entry to the M5 South. People coming down the M5 don't forget to jump off at Camden Vally Way exit.

Has anyone booked in at Wakefield yet for accomodation? :)

Just some food for thought!!!

If you guys leave at 8pm u will get into goulbourn around 10 - 10:30

and i highly doubt if i was a manager of a nice little motel in goulbourn i wouldnt be waiting till 10:30 to give u guys some keys to a room, especially andrew :P... hahah

yeah jsut something to think about

bathurst-91
06-11-2006, 06:38 PM
2hours exactly from the crossroads. (Or less if we speed it up abit)

I was under the impression that the joint was 24hrs or something. I guess prior arrangements need to be made.

If people want to leave sooner then I'll have to cancel joining the convoy. As I'll be working that day...

p.s but im not changing the time for you matt coz your a homo!

Beau

bathurst-91
27-11-2006, 07:14 AM
So what is everyone doing. Been advised that you need to prebook a room if your arriving as late as this meet is planned.

I've only made the crossroads meet that late simply because thats probably the earliest I can get there. I'll be working friday and finishing work at probably 630pm. Getting home and driving straight to crossroads.

Idealy I'd want to leave ASAP. So for all you people who are also working on friday try and get there 7-8pm. Going for a 8pm departure.. But hopefully everyone is there well before this and we can be on our way ASAP.

i need a hand held what one should i buy

I work at dick smiths, so heres my honest run down

This unit is DSE brand, model D1846, avoid DSE brand at all costs

http://www.dse.com.au/isroot/dse/images/products/d1846.jpg

This is a uniden model, #D1893. It has .7 watt of power, can cover decent range, has better quality speaker and mike than the dse brand.

I recommend this model for people going halves, drawback is that the charger dock is designed to hold both units so only one person gets a charger.

http://www.dse.com.au/isroot/dse/images/products/d1893.jpg

This is the model i recommend for low cost/good coverage. I own this model so you know its good ;) It has 1 watt of power and works well in the hills/over the horizon on convoys. It comes supplied with charger too, batteries usually last 6-8 hours. This unit can run normal alkaline AAA instead of the rechargeble pack, from which you can expect 15+hours approx.

http://www.dse.com.au/isroot/dse/images/products/d1876.jpg

Now, make sure you buy a uniden model and NOT a DSE, however do not purchase this model below, it doesnt have a good speaker or mike, nor does it have a backlit screen which sucks on late nights in the hills. Plus with only .5watt of power it doesnt go over the horizon on convoys..

http://www.dse.com.au/isroot/dse/images/products/d1804.jpg

Hope this has helped... if you decide not to buy Uniden, get a GME which is another great brand that you can buy from Jaycar. Remember its like all things, buy a decent one and you only have to buy it once.

05-12-2006, 07:55 AM

Yeah I cant stress it enough, CB's are mandatory.

Why dont you meet at the servo further down from the hotel? its on the correct side of the road to go straight back onto the M5. thats where I was planning to meet a couple of people, unless the servo isnt there any more. Its a pretty big one though, with truck stop and everything.

and all those smart cunts who keep emailing me saying "why is it 150 when wakefield is normally 90 - why are you rippng everyone off - its not fair - im a whinger and im not coming anyway".....

is due to all the cool shit alexi and his crew at IDA have put in (ie timers and the whole shebang) to make our day rock.
