Well, monkeymagic rented a tow truck to haul his hachi to a dyno. Apparently the tow truck died and had to be towed as well!

Now we have posted a roofchopped Trueno before, but what about this roofchopped Levin ute? Yes there will always be someone who wants to do it better.

On Yahoo Auctions, most people sell their hidden gems, like a cheap set of R.S Watanabe Eight-spoke wheels and then there are others who try to sell a good solid car. Apparently you can also sell your beaten up, thrasher drift missiles there. HachirokuGTV found this particularly sad-looking missile for sale on Auctions Yahoo for only 3100 yen! How cheap is that!?

You know you are doing your project car right when you unexpectedly win a prize as No. 1 JDM car on a carshow. At least, that’s what happened to AEU86 member Oldskull after taking his almost finished levin project to a car show to promote his buddies shop Raceminded.

He did put some stickers of his webshop on my car so I was there with him and other club members. I parked the car and we got chilling at his tent where we would sell all his stuff. Suddenly later at that day someone came to me and let me know that I need to pick up my prize as my car had won “No. 1 JDM car”. Really funny to know that I won the prize.

Then imagine this car won the best classic youngtimer prize on the Japanese Classic Sunday only one year before when it looked almost bone stock in OEM panda-red scheme and only a set of Konig Rewinds.

Alexi posted the latest cover of Option Magazine on his blog. The only think I there is anything that I would like to add to this rendering!  I surely hope the red panda scheme would also be available for the FT-86!

Canadian mobile phone provider Amp’d was featuring an AE86 in one of their commercials before they filed for bankruptcy in June 2007. Recently this video was found by AEU86 member Ivan141 and immediately a discussion was started about all the parts the car was featuring…

It was clearly a zenki 2-door Canadian (USDM spec) C0rolla GT-S with some (badly fitted) widened FRP fenders. During shifting you can see the spin turn handbrake button fitted. The wheels are hidden away behind a cheap set of wallmart hubcaps, but as you can see in the screenshot they are at least 15 inch and 7J wide. At the rear of the car the original US-spec bumper was still fitted and where did we see that front bumper before? USDM Corolla FX AE92?

This mid 80s Japanese car buying guide tv show called Car Guidance was found on Youtube.  Apparently the format of this show was to have Japanese women review a car and tell everything about it (from a women’s perspective?).  Apart from the common Laurel and Mark II-like saloons they also did an occasional sports model, like the kouki 1985 Sprinter Trueno GT Apex Twincam…  Hilarity ensues after the jump!
